Dogma is the story of Bethany (Linda Fiorentino), an abortion clinic worker with a special heritage. When Bethany is visited by the Metatron (Alan Rickman), he enlists her with a mission to help save humanity. Meanwhile, two fallen angels, Loki (Matt Damon) and Bartleby (Ben Affleck), who were ejected from paradise and find themselves banned in Wisconsin. They are now headed for New Jersey to exploit a loophole that can get them back into heaven. The only catch is that it will destroy humanity. Along the way, Bethany is aided by two prophets, Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith). With the help of Rufus (Chris Rock), the 13th Apostle, they must stop those who stand in their way and prevent the angels from entering Heaven and undoing the fabric of the universe.
