BlacKkKlansman is the story of Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) who is hired as the first black police officer in the Colorado Springs Police Department in the early 1970’s. Stallworth, an African-American was able to successfully infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan in 1978 by pretending to be a white supremacist over the phone and sending a white officer, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), in his place for in-person meetings. Stallworth was able to become the head of the local KKK chapter and sabotage their activities from within.
