Zoolander is the story of aging male Super Model Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) who was propelled to the top of the fashion world by a photogenic gaze he calls “Blue Steel.”  On the night of the highly anticipated VH1 Fashion Awards, Derek is crushed when he doesn’t win his fourth consecutive Male Model of the Year award which gets awarded to a young upstart model named Hansel (Owen Wilson). Adding to the insult, a story in Time magazine is published branding Derek as an idiot. The disappointment is too great and he decides to retire and seek out his roots.

Meanwhile, the new Prime Minster of Malaysia has upset a secret coalition of fashion designers by promising to raise the minimum wage, effectively ending their supply of cheap labor in the sweatshops. Sensing disaster, the covert group charges renowned fashion designer Jacobim Mugatu (Will Ferrell), the current king of haute couture, to find a mindless male model to brainwash into assassinating the new world leader.

Derek stumbles predictably into Mugatu’s hands and the only ones who can save him are Matilda Jeffries (Christine Taylor), the reporter who took away his good name, his rival Hansel and a mysterious model from the past named J.P. Pruitt (David Duchovny) who sheds light on the whole conspiracy.

Derek becomes easy prey when Mugatu signs him up to star in his newest “Derelicte” fashion show, then brainwashes him to kill the Malaysian Prime Minster triggered on the runway by the song “Relax” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Can they save Derek and the Prime Minster in time?
