Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi follows Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) who is engaged in a plan to rescue Han Solo (Harrison Ford) from the clutches of the loathsome gangster, Jabba the Hutt, who has also captured Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher). Luke teams up with Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) on this daring mission to rescue Solo.

Meanwhile, the evil Emperor Palpatine oversees the construction of the Empire’s awesome new Death Star orbiting around the forest moon of Endor. The Empire is more than halfway through construction of the new Death Star which is nearly twice as big and more than twice as powerful as the original. When completed, it will spell certain doom for Luke Skywalker and the Rebels.

In order to rescue Han Solo, Luke was forced to leave his Jedi training with Master Yoda unfinished. To become a true Jedi Knight, Luke will have to confront Darth Vader again. As the two face each other in battle, Luke senses that Vader is conflicted and still has some good in him even though Vader has sworn to win Luke over to the Dark Side of the Force. Luke must use his wits and training as he helps Darth Vader come back from the Dark Side without falling into Emperor Palpatine’s trap.

Movie Quotes

“Your thoughts betray you father.” – Luke Skywalker
“It is of no concern. Soon the rebellion will be crushed and young Skywalker will be one of us.” – Emperor Palpatine

“No, I’ll never turn to the dark side. You’ve failed your Highness. I’m a Jedi, like my father before me.” – Luke Skywalker
“So be it, Jedi!” – Emperor Palpatine

“You cannot hide forever, Luke.” – Darth Vader
“I will not fight you.” – Luke Skywalker
“Give yourself to the Dark Side. It is the only way you can save your friends. Yes, your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. Especially for…sister. So, you have a twin sister. Your feelings have now betrayed her too. Obi-Wan was wise to hide her from me. Now his failure is complete. If you will not turn to the Dark Side, then perhaps she will.” – Darth Vader
