Kingsman: The Secret Service is the story of Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin (Taron Egerton), an unrefined but promising street kid who lives with his mother in a South London housing estate and seems headed for a life behind bars.  Eggsy’s father died when he was young and his mother is now living with a creep who mistreats her and Eggsy.  When Eggsy has a run in with some nefarious sorts, he ends up getting arrested.

Just after his father died, a man at the funeral gave Eggsy a phone number to call if he ever needed help.  Remembering the instructions, he called the number leaves a message on the machine and shortly after a man named Harry Hart (Colin Firth) frees him from jail and tells Eggsy that he was a friend of his father’s.

When the man who Eggsy slighted wants some payback, Harry steps up and single-handedly takes care of him and his companions.  Harry then tells Eggsy that he is part of a secret organization called ‘The Kingsman’ which his father was also a member and that his father died trying to make the world safe.  Harry offers Eggsy an opportunity to be a Kingsman, and after accepting the offer, he begins a grueling training course.

Meanwhile, Harry is looking into the demise of another Kingsman agent and the trail leads him to tech billionaire Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson) who is planning to launch a diabolical plan to solve the problem of climate change via a worldwide killing spree using mind altering chips implanted in peoples cell phones.
