Guardians of the Galaxy is the story of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) who was abducted from Earth in 1988 following the death of his mother by the Ravagers, a group of space pirates led by Yondu Udonta (Michael Rooker).  Twenty-six years later on the planet Morag, Peter steals a mysterious orb but is attacked by Korath (Djimon Honsou), a subordinate to the fanatical Kree militant, Ronan (Lee Pace). Although Peter escapes with the orb, Yondu discovers his theft and issues a bounty for his capture, while Ronan send the assassin Gamora (Zoe Saldana) after the orb.

Meanwhile, when Peter attempts to sell the orb on Xander, capital of the Nova Empire, Gamora ambushes him and steals it. A fight ensues, drawing in a pair of bounty hunters: the genetically and cybernetically modified racoon Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and the tree-like humanoid Groot (Vin Diesel). Nova Corps officers capture the four, detaining them in the Kylin prison. A powerful inmate there, Drax (Dave Bautista), attempts to kill Gamora due to her association with Ronan and Thanos (Josh Brolin), who killed his family. Peter convinces Drax that Gamora can bring Ronan to him, though Gamora reveals that she has betrayed Ronan, unwilling to let him use the orb’s power. Learning that Gamora has a buyer for the orb, Peter, Rocket, Groot and Drax work with her to escape the Kylin in Peter’s ship, the Milano.

Movie Quotes

“I have lived most of my life surrounded by my enemies. I would be grateful to die among my friends.” – Gamora
“I am Groot.” – Groot

“Oh will you shut up about that? God, 20 years you’ve been throwing that in my face. Like it’s some great thing, “not eating me”. Normal people don’t even think about eating someone else, much less, that person having to be grateful for it.” – Peter Quill / Star-Lord

“And by the way… your ship is filthy” – Gamora
“Filthy? She has no idea. If we had a blacklight, it would look like a Jackson Pollock painting.” – Peter Quill / Star-Lord
