A Few Good Men is the story of two U.S. Marines charged with killing a fellow Marine in a hazing incident while stationed at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba.  Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise) is a military lawyer who was assigned as counsel to defend Lance Corporal Dawson (Wolfgang Bodison) and Private First Class Louden Downey (James Marshall).

Lieutenant Kaffee is known for seeking plea bargains in his cases and has never seen the inside of a courtroom.  On his team are fellow lawyers, Lieutenant Commander JoAnne Galloway (Demi Moore) and Lieutenant JG Sam Weinberg (Kevin Pollak).  The three of them fly to Cuba to meet with young accused Marines to investigate the murder scene and conduct interviews with other Marines on the base at the time of death.

After Kaffee and Galloway meet with the accused young Marines and after gathering evidence and strategizing, she realizes they have a sticky case on their hands.  The two Marines will follow won’t talk even to save themselves because it would go against the unwritten Marine code.  Although hazing is against the law and Marine policy, the Guantanamo commander, Colonel Nathan Jessup (Jack Nicholson) may have tacitly approved the hazing attack on the dead Marine.
