Field of Dreams is the story of Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) and his wife Annie Kinsella (Amy Madigan) who are novice corn farmers in Iowa. One night while walking through his corn field, Ray hears a voice whispering, “If you build it, he will come.” He thinks he is going crazy but continued hearing the voice and then sees a vision of a baseball diamond in his field.  He explains it to Annie who is skeptical but she allows him to plow the corn under to build a baseball field on their property.

Movie Quotes

“If you build it, he will come.” – The Voice
“We just don’t recognize life’s most significant moments while they’re happening. Back then I thought, “Well, there’ll be other days.” I didn’t realize that was the only day.” – Dr. Archibald ‘Moonlight’ Graham

“Fifty years ago, for five minutes you came within… y-you came this close. It would KILL some men to get so close to their dream and not touch it. God, they’d consider it a tragedy.” – Ray Kinsella
“Son, if I’d only gotten to be a doctor for five minutes… now that would have been a tragedy.” – Dr. Archibald ‘Moonlight’ Graham

“The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it’s a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and it could be again.” – Terence Mann
