Roma is the story of Cleodegaria “Cleo” Gutierrez (Yalitza Aparicio), an indigenous live-in maid in a middle-class household in the Colonia Roma neighborhood of Mexico City.  The family’s matriarch, Sofia (Marina de Tavira), her husband Antonio, grandmother Teresa, their four young children, and another maid Adela (Nancy Garcia Garcia) also live in the house.
