Along Came Polly follows Reuben Feffer (Ben Stiller), an insurance actuary and risk analyst who suddenly finds himself in uncharted territory. His life is perfect. He has a great job, dedicated friends and he is getting married to Lisa Kramer (Debra Messing), the love of his life.

However, on their honeymoon, Reuben discovers her cheating on him with her scuba instructor Claude (Hank Azaria). Lisa stays with Claude and Reuben flies back home to New York to get his life back on track. Back home, his best friend, former child star Sandy Lyle (Philip Seymour Hoffman) urges him to attend a party where Reuben meets an ex middle school classmate, Polly Prince (Jennifer Aniston), whose spirited ways spark his adoration but confound his neuroses.

Because of his job, Reuben is a true risk-avoider while Polly is a free spirited wanderer yet their differences work for both of them as they begin dating. When Lisa returns from her fling with Claude, Reuben is put in a position where he must choose whether to take back his cold-hearted wife or run with the commitment-phobic Polly. Who will Reuben choose?

Movie Quotes

“Let it rain!” – Sandy Lyle
“Oh and by the way, I threw away all your little throw pillows.  Yea. Cuz throw pillows suck.  They serve no purpose.  They’re purely decorative.” – Ruben Feffer

“All right, we all need to look into our hearts and go, “Do I think this dude is gonna die in a few years or not?” Is old Leland here gonna fight off a man… who goes by the last name “Reaper,” first name “Grim?” Or will this BASE-jumping, crocodile-wrestling, shark-diving, volcano-luging, bear-fighting, snake-wrangling, motocross-racing bastard die?” – Sandy Lyle

“Since we have been together I have felt more uncomfortable, out of place, embarrassed, and just physically sick than I have in my entire life.  But I could not have gone through that, I could not have thrown up 19 times in 48 days if I was not in love with you.” – Reuben Feffer
