You, Me and Dupree is the story of two newlyweds, Carl (Matt Dillon) and Molly (Kate Hudson), who are starting their new happy life together with a nice house and established careers in tow. Nothing seems to get in their way. However, Carl is about to find out just how much friendship means when his best friend and best man at their wedding, Dupree (Owen Wilson) has been displaced from his home and fired from his job because he attended their wedding.
The pair soon become a trio when Carl invites Dupree to crash at their place until he gets back on his feet. At first Carl is happy to have him around, but that soon turns to annoyance when Dupree overstays his welcome in far too many ways and threatens to become a permanent fixture in their home.
