Jerry Maguire (Tom Cruise) is a very successful high profile sports agent who has it all, the biggest clients, the respect of his peers and a beautiful fiance. However, something is missing. Jerry experiences a crisis of conscience and questions his purpose. Coming to terms with what’s wrong with his career, he stays up all night writing down his thoughts and ideas and ends up composing a heartfelt company-wide memo which he refers to as his mission statement. Caught up in the moment, he goes to a Kinkos and makes copies which get distributed company-wide for everyone in his firm. Unfortunately his opinions are not met with the same enthusiasm from his superiors and it gets him fired from the largest sports agency in the United States.

He rushes back to his office and desperate to hang on to the athletes that he represents, Jerry starts calling all of his contacts. Meanwhile, his firm had prepared for this and had every agent start calling Jerry’s clients telling them that he had a breakdown and they would be taking over for him. After a mad flurry, Jerry was able to convince two of his clients to stay with him. Jerry then proceeds to gather his belongings and make his way and stops to ask if anyone at his firm would go with him to start his own sports agency.

The only person from his former firm that would join him when he was fired was Dorothy Boyd (Renee Zellweger), an idealistic single mom who sees potential in Jerry. Banking on their sole existing client, volatile Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding Jr.), Jerry sets out with the impossible task of rebuilding what he once had while starting to fall in love as they struggle to make their business work. Can Jerry resurrect his career while staying true to himself?

But it wasn’t complete, it wasn’t nearly close to being in the same vicinity as complete, because I couldn’t share it with you. I couldn’t hear your voice, or laugh about it with you. I missed my wife. We live in a cynical world, and we work in a business of tough competitors, I love you. You complete me. And I just…” – Jerry Maguire

The Mayflower is one of the largest and most respected dog shows in America. A film crew interviews owners and handlers as they prepare for the trip, arrive at the Taft Hotel in Philadelphia and compete in their various classes. The tension mounts and excitement grows with hundreds of eager canine contestants and their owners as they compete for the top honors for the coveted Best in Show.

From Florida come Gerry Fleck (Eugene Levy) and his wife Cookie (Catherine O’Hara) with their Norwich Terrier, Winky. The Fleck’s are a middle-class couple who are having money problems and are forced to sleep in the hotels storage room when they finally arrive in Philly.

The high strung Swan’s, Meg (Parker Posey) and Hamilton (Michael Hitchcock), are an upper-class stereotypical yuppy couple who feud loudly in front of their prized Weimaraner, Beatrice.

Harlan Pepper (Christopher Guest) and his bloodhound Hubert are from the piney woods of North Carolina. Harlan’s family have raised bloodhounds for generations and Harlan continues the tradition, though he has aspirations of becoming a ventriloquist.

Sherri Ann is a voluptuous blonde, having the elderly Leslie as her sugar daddy. Their handler, Christy Cummings (Jane Lynch) makes sure Rhapsody is ready for the show.

Lastly, the film crew interviews and focuses on Scott Donlan (John Michael Higgins) and Stefan Vanderhoof (Michael McKean) and their Shih Tzu. The gay couple takes great pride in their dog, and are confident she will win the competition.

The owners and their dogs all arrive in time for the show and the competition begins to see who ultimately wins Best in Show at the Mayflower.

A Fish Called Wanda is the story of four unlikely thieves who team up to plan and execute a large diamond heist in London worth £13 million. George Thomason (Tom Georgeson), a British gangster and his right-hand man Ken Pile (Michael Palin) recruit two arrogant Americans, Wanda Gerschwitz (Jamie Lee Curtis) a grifter and Otto West (Kevin Kline), a weapons expert to steal the diamonds.

When the job goes badly, Wanda and Otto plan to double cross George by having him arrested for the heist, while they abscond with the jewels. With an anonymous tip, they are able to get George arrested with him not knowing who tipped the police off. In the process, George is being implicated by an elderly eye witness named Eileen Coady (Patricia Hayes) who saw the whole thing.

With George in jail, Wanda and Otto go to the agreed upon hiding place only to discover that he in turn has protected his investment by moving the jewels to a different location with Ken being the only other person who knows where they are. While in custody, George tasks Ken, an animal lover with an extreme stuttering problem, with killing Mrs. Coady before she is able to testify against him, as she is the crown’s primary witness.

Meanwhile, Wanda has a plan of her own and she attempts to seduce George’s stuffy defense Barrister, Archie Leach (John Cleese), to find out where George hid the diamonds so she can double cross everyone and make off with the loot.

Movie Quotes

“Apes don’t read philosophy.” – Otto
“Yes they do, Otto. They just don’t understand it.” – Wanda
“Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not ‘Every man for himself.’ And the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Otto. I looked them up.” – Wanda

“Avoid the green ones. They’re not ripe yet.” – Otto

“Wanda, do you have any idea what it’s like being English? Being so correct all the time, being so stifled by this dread of, of doing the wrong thing, of saying to someone “Are you married?” and hearing “My wife left me this morning,” or saying, uh, “Do you have children?” and being told they all burned to death on Wednesday. You see, Wanda, we’re all terrified of embarrassment. That’s why we’re so… dead. Most of my friends are dead, you know, we have these piles of corpses to dinner. But you’re alive, God bless you, and I want to be, I’m so fed up with all this. I want to make love with you, Wanda. I’m a good lover – at least I used to be, back in the early 14th century. Can we go to bed?” – Archie Leach

A League of Their Own is the story about two sisters, Dottie Hinson (Geena Davis) and Kit Keller (Lori Petty), who live in a small town in Oregon and compete with each other for everything. In addition, both women play on the local softball team sponsored by Lukash Dairy with Dottie playing catcher while her younger sister Kit is the pitcher on the team.

During World War II, most of the able bodied men have been shipped overseas to to fight the war while the women who are left behind are tasked with filling the jobs left vacant by the men. Moreover, as a way to boost morale, a well-known candy mogul and MLB team owner, Walter Harvey (Garry Marshall), contrives the idea to create a professional baseball league for women; both to keep the sport alive and to make a buck or two while entertaining the fans during wartime.

Scouts are sent all over the country to find women players to populate the newly formed league and as Ernie Capadino (Jon Lovitz) passes through Wilamette, Oregon, he discovers Dottie who is a top notch player on a co-ed fastpitch softball league. When approached to play, Dottie is offered a tryout for the upcoming league but she is not interested in joining but explains that Kit is a great pitcher. After considering his options, Ernie offers Kit a tryout but only if Dottie attends too and she eventually gives in.

After the tryouts, women are chosen and split into four teams with sixteen players on each team. Meanwhile, Dottie and Kit both end up on the same team, the Rockford Peaches, who will play in Rockford, Illinois. Walter Harvey enlists Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks), a former MLB star who left the league due to alcohol related issues, to manage the newly formed team to give the league a name to cheer for while the women play. Meanwhile, the sisters struggle to help the league succeed while battling with their own growing personal rivalry.

Movie Quotes

“Careers and higher education are leading to the masculinization of women, with enormously dangerous consequences to the home, the children, and our country. When our boys come home from war, what kind of girls will they be coming home to? And now the most disgusting example of this sexual confusion: Mr. Walter Harvey of Harvey bars is presenting us with women’s baseball. Right here in Chicago, young girls plucked from their families are gathered at Harvey Field, to see which one of them can be the most masculine. Mr. Harvey, like your candy bars, you’re completely… nuts.” – Maida Gillespie
“Uh, Lord, hollowed be Thy name. May our feet be swift; may our bats be mighty; may our balls… be plentiful. Lord, I’d just like to thank You for that waitress in South Bend. You know who she is – she kept calling Your name. And God, these are good girls, and they work hard. Just help them see it all the way through. Okay, that’s it.” – Jimmy Dugan

“Great game, Jimmy. I especially liked the move in the seventh inning when you scratched your balls for an hour.” – Ira Lowenstein

A Good Year stars Russell Crowe, Albert Finney, Marion Cotillard, Abbie Cornish, Freddy Highmore, Tom Hollander, Archie Panjabi, Didier Bourdon, Isabelle Candelier and Kenneth Cranham.

A Good Year is the story Max Skinner (Russell Crowe), a London banker who inherits his Uncles estate in southeastern France. After his parents died in a tragic accident, young Max spent his childhood summer holidays with his Uncle Henry (Albert Finney), learning to appreciate the finer things in life.

25 years later, Max, a successful arrogant workaholic bond trader in London, learns of his uncles passing and that he is the sole beneficiary of the French chateau and vineyard where he spent much of his childhood. He travels to Provence to prepare a quick sale only to learn that the estate needs a lot of work to renovate it to be sold.

With no intention of keeping the estate, he plans to fix up the place cosmetically in a few days and then sell the entire lot. While working on the house he is surprised by the unexpected arrival of Christie Roberts (Abbie Cornish), who is backpacking through Europe and presents herself as Henry’s previously unknown illegitimate daughter looking for her long-lost father. Max fears that she might also lay claim to the estate and tries to keep her happy until she decides to leave.

Meanwhile, Max is also enamored of the very beautiful yet entirely feisty local cafe owner Fanny Chenal (Marion Cotillard), who is rumored to have sworn off men. He successfully woos Fanny, who leaves Max the next morning expecting him to return to his life in London. Christie, having learned that Max intends to betray Henry’s passion, leaves Provence, and Max sells the estate and returns to his life in London. Memories flood and Max immediately regrets betraying his uncle and forges a letter from Henry that states Christie has a valid claim to the property and returns to Provence to pursue a relationship with Fanny.

Movie Quotes

“A man should acknowledge his losses just as gracefully as he celebrates his victories. You’ll come to see that a man learns nothing from winning. The act of losing, however, can elicit great wisdom. Not least of which is, uh… how much more enjoyable it is to win. It’s inevitable to lose now and again. The trick is not to make a habit of it.” – Uncle Henry
“Forgive my lips. They find joy in the most unusual places.” – Max Skinner

“There’s something you should know about me, Max. I’m very, very choosy… I’m also very, very suspicious; very, very irrational, and I have a very, very short temper. I’m also extremely jealous and slow to forgive. Just so you know.” – Fanny Chenal

“My uncle loved women, although no one for a long time, and he never married. He loved England, yet lived in France. He was an adventurer, yet all my memories take place within 100 steps of this spot.” – Max Skinner

Zoolander is the story of aging male Super Model Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) who was propelled to the top of the fashion world by a photogenic gaze he calls “Blue Steel.”  On the night of the highly anticipated VH1 Fashion Awards, Derek is crushed when he doesn’t win his fourth consecutive Male Model of the Year award which gets awarded to a young upstart model named Hansel (Owen Wilson). Adding to the insult, a story in Time magazine is published branding Derek as an idiot. The disappointment is too great and he decides to retire and seek out his roots.

Meanwhile, the new Prime Minster of Malaysia has upset a secret coalition of fashion designers by promising to raise the minimum wage, effectively ending their supply of cheap labor in the sweatshops. Sensing disaster, the covert group charges renowned fashion designer Jacobim Mugatu (Will Ferrell), the current king of haute couture, to find a mindless male model to brainwash into assassinating the new world leader.

Derek stumbles predictably into Mugatu’s hands and the only ones who can save him are Matilda Jeffries (Christine Taylor), the reporter who took away his good name, his rival Hansel and a mysterious model from the past named J.P. Pruitt (David Duchovny) who sheds light on the whole conspiracy.

Derek becomes easy prey when Mugatu signs him up to star in his newest “Derelicte” fashion show, then brainwashes him to kill the Malaysian Prime Minster triggered on the runway by the song “Relax” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Can they save Derek and the Prime Minster in time?

Along Came Polly follows Reuben Feffer (Ben Stiller), an insurance actuary and risk analyst who suddenly finds himself in uncharted territory. His life is perfect. He has a great job, dedicated friends and he is getting married to Lisa Kramer (Debra Messing), the love of his life.

However, on their honeymoon, Reuben discovers her cheating on him with her scuba instructor Claude (Hank Azaria). Lisa stays with Claude and Reuben flies back home to New York to get his life back on track. Back home, his best friend, former child star Sandy Lyle (Philip Seymour Hoffman) urges him to attend a party where Reuben meets an ex middle school classmate, Polly Prince (Jennifer Aniston), whose spirited ways spark his adoration but confound his neuroses.

Because of his job, Reuben is a true risk-avoider while Polly is a free spirited wanderer yet their differences work for both of them as they begin dating. When Lisa returns from her fling with Claude, Reuben is put in a position where he must choose whether to take back his cold-hearted wife or run with the commitment-phobic Polly. Who will Reuben choose?

Movie Quotes

“Let it rain!” – Sandy Lyle
“Oh and by the way, I threw away all your little throw pillows.  Yea. Cuz throw pillows suck.  They serve no purpose.  They’re purely decorative.” – Ruben Feffer

“All right, we all need to look into our hearts and go, “Do I think this dude is gonna die in a few years or not?” Is old Leland here gonna fight off a man… who goes by the last name “Reaper,” first name “Grim?” Or will this BASE-jumping, crocodile-wrestling, shark-diving, volcano-luging, bear-fighting, snake-wrangling, motocross-racing bastard die?” – Sandy Lyle

“Since we have been together I have felt more uncomfortable, out of place, embarrassed, and just physically sick than I have in my entire life.  But I could not have gone through that, I could not have thrown up 19 times in 48 days if I was not in love with you.” – Reuben Feffer
