Armageddon is the story of Harry S. Stamper (Bruce Willis), a blue-collar deep-sea oil driller who is recruited by NASA to assist space on a mission to try to save the world from an asteroid on a collision course for Earth. Harry accepts the mission but only if he is able to bring his crew with him because they are the best drillers in the world. NASA begrudgingly accepts Harry’s terms, however, Harry’s crew does not fit the elite NASA astronaut profile.  Harry’s crew is comprised of A.J. Harry splits his crew in half and A.J., Bear, Oscar and Noonan board the X-71 Space Shuttle orbiter Freedom and Harry leads the other crew who board X-71 Space Shuttle orbiter Independence.

For several generations the Gates family has been searching for clues to discover the hidden location of the legendary national treasure. Ben’s father Patrick Gates (Jon Voight) spent more than 20 years working through clues left by the free masons before giving up on ever finding it.

The plot takes a twist when Ben is hired by Ian Howe (Sean Bean) to pursue a clue to the treasures whereabouts. Ben deciphers clues that lead him and Ian to a frozen tundra where they locate a long since missing ship and decode a message that leads them to the Declaration of Independence holding the next clue. Ian then plans to steal the Declaration. Ben refused Ian’s plan and the situation becomes hostile. When Ben returns to the US, he notifies the FBI about the possible theft but they refuse to believe him noting that the document is one of the most protected documents in America.

In order to thwart Ian’s plans, Ben determines the only way to protect the Declaration of Independence is to steal the document himself. Ben and his best friend Riley Poole (Justin Bartha) meet with Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger) who is the curator of the archives and tells her the same story he told the FBI. With that, Ben is forced to act on his own to protect the most famous document in the world.

Ben and Riley plan a very intricate robbery and schedule it during a black tie event at the museum. In the meantime, Abigail gets suspicious when Ben shows up at the party and interferes with the robbery. As a result, Ben takes her hostage and then uses her skills to help decipher clues on the back of the Declaration and follows them to try to protect the national treasure from getting in the hands of Ian. Will Ben be able to save the treasure?

Movie Quotes

“The Templars and the Freemasons believed that the treasure was too great for any one man to have, not even a king. That’s why they went to such lengths to keep it hidden.” – Agent Sandusky
“There is not a treasure map on the back of the Declaration of Independence.” – Abigail Chase

“This room is real, Ben. And that means the treasure is real. We’re in the company of some of the most brilliant minds in history because you found what they left behind for us to find, and understood the meaning of it. You did it, Ben, for all of us – your grandfather, and all of us. And I’ve never been so happy to be proven wrong.” – Patrick Gates

“A toast? Yeah. To high treason. That’s what these men were committing when they signed the Declaration. Had we lost the war, they would have been hanged, beheaded, drawn and quartered, and-Oh? Oh, my personal favorite-and had their entrails cut out and burned!” – Ben Gates

A Perfect Getaway is the story of Cliff (Steve Zahn) and Cydney (Milla Jovovich), an adventurous couple enjoying their honeymoon on Kauai while getting ready to hike a gorgeous 11-mile trail to a spectacular secluded beach. On their way, the couple stops for Cleo (Marley Shelton) and Kale (Chris Hemsworth), another pair of newlyweds trying to hitch a ride by the side of the road. Cliff gets intimidated by Kale and tells the couple they need to find another ride and Cliff and Cydney drive off.

Cliff and Cydney get to the trail head and begin their adventure. A short while into the hike, they get to a narrow ridge in the trail and are unsure they can make it across. While contemplating turning around, another hiker, Nick (Timothy Olyphant) shows up and demonstrates how to cross a particularly tricky section of the trail and the trio continue to walk together.

Further up the trail, the trio comes across a group of upset girls who were trying to get their cell phones to work after losing their signal while one girl was speaking to her father. On the call she learned that a young couple had been found dead in Honolulu. The victims had their teeth pulled out and fingerprints removed and the police are on the lookout for a man and a woman as suspects. As it turns out, Cliff and Cydney just came from there before they embarked on the trail and Nick mentions he was also just there.

The trio continues to hike when Nick decides to break off from them. He mentions that he just hiked back to get some things he forgot. Cliff and Cydney discuss whether they should stick with Nick who is walking back to his camp or if they should continue. Nick doesn’t mind either way. The couple was about to head off on their own when Cliff suddenly has a change of heart after spotting Cleo and Kale on the trail just below them. They stick with Nick and continue to a waterfall, where Nick’s girlfriend Gina (Kiele Sanchez) is lying down on a raft naked. Nick strips off his clothes and joins her in the water.

The next morning, the two couples trek their way towards the popular beach. It will not take them long to realize that both Nick and Gina are a little odd and suspiciously fit the description of the killers.
